Westminster Cycling Strategy


In March 2013 the Mayor of London launched a Cycling Vision for London. In response to this document and in recognition of the growing number of people choosing to cycle, the Council has drafted a Westminster Cycling Strategy, which sets out how the Council intends to help deliver this Mayoral vision at a local level, taking account of Westminster’s unique circumstances and challenges.

The strategy broadly covers the period up to 2026. It examines how people are changing the way that they travel into and around Westminster, the opportunities and challenges associated with the increase in cycling, and how further growth will be encouraged and supported through a wide range of schemes and initiatives.

The council is now inviting comments on the draft cycling strategy and you can download the relevant documents below:

How do I comment?

You can take part in this consultation and tell us what you think by completing an online questionnaire by clicking on the following link: Cycle Survey

Questionnaires should be completed by no later than Monday 20 January 2014, when the consultation will close.

If you would prefer to complete a paper version of the questionnaire, copies are also available in all Westminster libraries and leisure centres.

What happens next?

All comments received will be carefully considered and a revised final strategy will be made available on the website in early 2014. The council will then commence delivery of the measures contained within this agreed strategy.
