The London Taxi Company is trialling late night opening, with a view to opening late regularly in the future.

The black cab manufacturer’s first test night was Wednesday 27 March, with the Brewery Road dealership opening at 8.30am and staying open until 12midnight.

More than 20 customers visited ‘after-hours’ to discuss vehicle sales or to buy parts, with customers taking advantage of the late opening to get their servicing done.

UK Retail General Manager, James Dennison, said: “We made the decision about a week before to test the theory of late nights, following direct feedback from some of our customers that our ‘office hours’ weren’t always convenient for them.

“We’re not entirely sure how many nights a week we’ll do this going forward, but it’s definitely worth doing. It was great to see some new faces, especially some of the night drivers who normally simply wouldn’t be able to get in to see us. Once we have had a few more test nights, we’ll be able to confirm our regular late night opening hours to the trade.”

The next late night opening test nights will be Wednesday 10th and 24th April, with the dealership opening from 8.30am until 11pm on both nights.

All areas of the dealership will be open, so customers can buy new and used TX4s or parts; they can also pre-book servicing or warranty work to take place during these longer evenings.
