Get ready for the GamesAre you ready for the Games yet? To help you get prepared follow the steps below:

Driver licences and ID badges – There will be stringent security checks in place around competition venues and other key locations to help ensure the safety of everyone involved with the Games. It is therefore essential that you make sure your licence documents, badge, and identifiers are in order before the Games, to ensure you can access drop-off and pick-up points at competition venues.

Renew now – If your driver’s licence is due to expire during the Games then make sure you submit your renewal now to avoid any delays.

Vehicle services and licences – If any of your vehicles are due for a regular service in early August, book them in now to reduce the likelihood of a problem occurring during the Games. Make sure you also book a licensing inspection as soon as possible if this is due during the Games.

Vehicle inspections – some journeys may take longer during the Games so, if you have a vehicle inspection booked when the Games are taking place, allow yourself plenty of time to get to the SGS inspection centre

Road changes – there will be various road changes in place during the Games, with additional changes when road events are taking place in Central London. Familiarise yourself with the changes by visiting GetAheadoftheGames.com

  • Updates – we’ll be issuing tweets throughout the Games so make sure you follow us on Twitter @tfltph.

If you know other people who would like to receive these updates then tell them all they need to do is send an email to tph.enquiries@tfl.gov.uk with ‘subscribe’ in the subject field to register.

Did you know..?

The Olympic Route Network (ORN) will include just one per cent of London’s roads. Some stretches of the ORN relate to specific competition venues and will be removed as soon as they are no longer needed. The section to and from the Wimbledon venue, for example, will be removed as soon as possible after the Tennis competition finishes on 5 August. Find out more.
